Female sexually transmitted diseases

Sexual transmitted diseases are commonly  known as STD (Sexual transmitted diseases ).The diseases may have no symptoms which is one of the reasons experts prefer the term "sexually transmitted infections" to "sexually transmitted  diseases.They are also known as VD (venereal diseases).

Men and women of all ages can be suffer from sexually transmitted diseases.Mostly they  are spread through contact with infected body fluids such as blood, vaginal fluids, or semen.they can also transmitted from contact with infected skin or mucous membranes, like sores in the mouth.Another source of transmission  is usage of infected needles.

It's possible to contract sexually transmitted diseases from people who seem perfectly healthy — people who, in fact, aren't even aware of being infected.Many STDs may not cause any symptoms but they include sores or blisters on or around the genital area or in the mouth, pain or burning during urination, unusual discharge from the vagina itching, swelling, pain in or around the vagina pain in the pelvic area bleeding other than  menstrual period. If you have any of these symptoms, you could have an STD.Then you should consult to a doctor.

Transmitted diseases:

Following are the female sexual transmitted diseases :

Gonorrhea
This disease is caused by a bacterium named Neisseria gonorrhoeae that affects the mucous membrane of  genital and urinary tracts.In this condition the victim is suffering from painful urination.In both men and women if gonorrhea is left untreated if it has progressed.

Chlamydia
This diseases is caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis, a microscopic organism that lives as a parasite inside human cells.Actually it is a  type of bacteria one species of which causes an infection very similar to gonorrhea.chlamydia is found in the cervix and urethra Like gonorrhea, it is very dangerous  to the tubes (the fallopian tubes).It causes infertility in females.Women with a history of chlamydia have an increased risk of developing cancer of the cervix.this disease can transmitted through sexual contact or from mother to child and from body fluid of infected person.chlamydia is a prime cause of severe pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).This disease can effect men as well as women But more victims are women 25% victims are men and 50% victims are women.

Syphilis
It is found in both men and in women mostly victims are women 30% victims are female and 20 % victims are men.This disease is caused by a bacterium named treponema pallidum.It  is fatal disease it increase the risk oh HIV Human immunodeficiencyvirus.This can transmitted by sexual contact and also transfer from mother to child.often doesn't cause any symptoms in its early stages.But it is incurable if it can progress.It is a chronic infectious disease.Syphilis is also known as lues from a Latin word meaning plague.

Genital Herpes
This disease is caused by a virus named herpes simplex virus type.

HSV-2
Herpes is an fatal viral infection thought to be one of the most common STDs. These viruses are of two types

HSV-1 (usually causes oral herpes)

HSV-2 (usually causes genital herpes)
This can be transmitted by sexual contact and damage the skin or mucous membranes of the genitals also causes painful blisters and redness around the genital area.

Human Papillomaviruses
This virus is also refers as HPV which is the abbreviation of human papillomavirus.this causes genital warts which is one of the main reason of cervix cancer in women these are different kinds of viruses some causes cervix cancer and some causes warts on the hands and feet.This virus can also transfer from mother to child and from sexual contact.

Chancroid
Chancroid is contagious in nature.It is caused by a bacterium named Haemophilus ducreyi.Chancroid causes ulcers of genitals.This disease is transmitted through sexual contact or  through skin-to-skin contact with open sore.This is found in both men and women.

Ectoparasitic Infections
This disease is caused by infection  that can be cause by the bit of tiny parasite like lice or mites.It can be transmitted by sexual contact.The victim has to suffer from itching.

Acquired Immunodeficiency SyndromeI
t is commonly known as AIDS.This virus affect the immune system of the body.this virus can transmitted through sexual contact or from mother to child and from body fluid of infected person.

Hepatitis:
It is the infection which affect liver caused by a DNA virus.symptoms of Hepatitis  are severe or chronic, causing serious damage to the liver. Also called serum hepatitis.it can b transmitted through contaminated food or contaminated blood,sexual contact and through contaminated needles and instruments.
