Nepal is a beautiful place thought the crime rate in Nepal increases day by day and security is of no use in Nepal. The victims in majority who face problems and suffer from sexual harassment are women and children’s, because the status of man is powerful in this society and they overwhelm the women’s status. Women get helpless, confused, and powerless and they just can’t do anything of these scenarios, they just get totally unconditional of a situation.
In Nepal women is not respected at all and the most of the incidents of sexual harassment occurs in public places and on roads or streets. Most of the girls have complained that they are sexually harassed in vans and wagons. The rate of sexual harassment has increase too much in Nepal and this trend is the influence of western culture and the influence of movies and dramas on televisions, that makes the boys and mans more desperate and they start sexually harassing girls.
Male gender in Nepal have no realization or feeling of guilt inside them, for them it’s a fun business and they just enjoy misbehaving with girls and sexual harass them. Girls complain that on their way to school or work in vans it’s too crowded that boy purposely come and sit beside them and start rubbing their body to girls body, and sometimes they start an unusual conversation of and start asking the girls about their sex life and purposely put their hands on their shoulders and touch their private parts, and no one does anything and they all ignore the incident.
Sometimes girls have to suffer and walk a long way to their office because of these incidents in vans. Some girls say they when they walk on the streets after dark especially on the footpath they usually face boys riding on motor bikes and whistling at them or touch them and run away, and even the old taxi drivers passing wrong comments and using abusive language on them.
Girls usually say that this sexual harassment has increase because man always wants to dominate and because of their dominating status in society they don’t want the female genders to get out of their home or do anything that a man can do. These people have no respect for women no even for their mothers and sisters.
When girls face these kinds of issues they are not even helped by anyone, even the police is standing on the side and laughing on these events. Some time some policeman arrest the women on some fake suspect and take them to police station , then they sexually harassment them by grabbing them and touching their private parts while groping them, and girls just stay helpless in that condition. And when some girls face sexual harassment in public place and when they go to the police to file a complaint, police just ignores them by telling them that these incidents happen on daily bases so it’s no use of filing the complaint.
There is basically no security for women or girls in Nepal. Boys just find it fun, but they never know that girls get hurt from these incidents and they find it disgusting and embarrassing. Girls are affected mentally and physically by these actions of boys, there are some girls who miss their colleges and get absent in fear of some stupid boys who sexually harass them, and even sometimes it cause girls to miss their exams and it affect their educations too.
There is no proper law against these discrimination in Nepal and women have no right to move freely, because all these incidents mostly takes place in day light in front of the public and still no one takes any actions and everyone just enjoy these incidents and other women in fear doesn't do anything and they just save their own respect.
